We all get caught up in our everyday jobs. Student exchange is so full of events to plan, paperwork to be done, formalities to be organised, transfers to be arranged and deadlines to be met. At South England Exchange Ltd, we regularly take a step back from the logistics of what we do to consider the bigger picture of why and how. This guides us in the many decisions we have to make.
Growth
Enabling growth is a primary aim underpinning all SEE and SEI programmes. We need students to be able to communicate with us and carry responsibility for their own actions and thoughts in the cultural immersion context. Growth will help students to be empowered, fulfilled individuals, both during and after the programme.
Guidance
A seed doesn’t grow without water. We create structures which enable students to grow. We need partners who understand our aim and work with us in guiding students towards growth. Partners who trust us to have provided the right framework are able to let students ‘do it for themselves’.
Goals
Plants produce different blooms. It is essential that we guide students towards defining their goals and that we recognise that their goals may change during the time here. When considering goals, we also reflect on starting points and personal aims.
